Paul B. Walker, Jr.-Station Manage/Chief Operator
Paul talks about his radio career. "My interest in radio and TV started when I was very young. There were a 3 local radio stations that I listened to while growing up in Connecticut. They were WCNX-AM 1150,  WTIC-AM 1080 and WDRC-FM 102.9. I listened to each of them for different reasons. WDRC had great music, WTIC had great news and one Saturday  afternoon talk show I liked and WCNX had an early Saturday morning talk show that I enjoyed. Over the years, I read, watched and listened to everything I could about radio. By the age or 14 or 15, I knew... I wanted to be in radio, that was my dream. I set a goal when I was 16 for my radio future. When I was 19, I found out about a job at a 250 Watt AM day timer in Northwestern Mississippi and figured I'd go down there and give it a shot. I didn't have any kids or a wife, so I had nothing to lose and I'd get to see a part of the US that I'd never see otherwise. That job lasted about 9 or 10 months before things started to go sour and I left. I spent a few months back in Connecticut and was made aware of the job here at WTIR-AM 1300 and the rest, as they say, is history".
