WPXE History
In 1963, George Gothberg Radio, Inc. purchased the license of  WRJR-AM and the calls became WPXE. An FM construction permit was granted in 1976 and WPXE-FM 106.3 took to the air in 1978. The FM would simulcast the AM programming.
