WMFE History WMFE signed on July 24, 1980. The original format was a mix of public radio news/talk, jazz, classical music and Old Time Radio programs. Jazz was dropped in 1983. At the time, Orlando was the largest city in the United States with no full-time Public Radio service and only had a part-time affiliation with WFTU-FM 89.9 until 1978. 11-19-09 WMFE-FM 90.7 will morph into all news and information beginning Friday at 4PM. If you want your classical music, you'll have to purchase an HD Radio as it moves to 90.7-2. "Morning Edition" will now run from 6AM-10AM. "The Diane Rehm Show"; 10AM-Noon weekdays. "Fresh Air" Noon-1PM. "Here and Now" from 1PM-2PM. "Talk of the Nation" 2PM-3PM and a second part from 8PM-9PM. "The World" 3PM-4PM. "All Things Considered" from 4PM-6PM. "Marketplace" 6PM-6:30PM.
