Sitting in for Bud Hedinger on WFLF-AM 540/102.5-FM's "Good Morning Orlando"  will be Simon Conway. Conway will be voice tracking from WHO-AM 1040 in Des Moines, Iowa, through Wed.

John Barrett has re-joined Southern Stone Communications WNDB-AM 1150/FM 93.5.


New Morning Host for WHOO     4-7-16
Sports/Talk personality Eric Kuselias has signed up to host weekday mornings from 6AM-9AM on Genesis Communications I WHOO-AM 1080. As part of the deal multi-platform partnership Kuselias will also be featured in exclusive video, podcast and blogging content via a number of digital platforms, including the company’s SportsTalkFlorida.com. Kuselias will debut on April 11. Eric was most recently heard on NBC Sports Radio.


An Evening with Lt. Col. Ron Mumm     4-7-16
On Monday, April 11, WNDB-AM 1150/93.5 FM's Marc Bernier will host  Lt. Col. Ron Mumm former lead pilot of the US Air Force Thunderbird team. With incredible stories, Col. Mumm will also take questions from you in the audience during the special 80 minute program. There will be overflow rooms available just in case and Col. Mumm will be available for pictures after the session. We will also be announcing our huge opening Speaker event for September 12th. Doors open at 6PM in the Gale Lemerand auditorium, in the Willie Miller Instructional Center on Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach.

WURB Is No More        4-13-16
The FCC has cancelled the license of WURB-FM 97.7, Cross City. A construction permit was granted to Alex Media, Inc. in 2011. Urban One Network, LLC purchased the permit in 2013. The station’s planned key demographic was black Americans ages 34 to 65.

WMFE Takes Awards     4-18-16

The news team at WMFE-FM 90.7 won awards in categories including cultural/historical feature and public affairs at the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters 2016 radio and TV contest held April 9 at the annual FAPB awards banquet in Orlando. Reporter Renata Sago won second place in the cultural/historical feature category for her piece “Vietnamese Vets Still Fighting the War Forty Years After Fall of Saigon,” which recounts the harrowing journeys of Vietnam veterans and Orlando residents Tuan Tran and his friend Cang Nguyen. In the public affairs category, second place went to Matthew Peddie, host of WMFE’s news and in-depth conversation program, "Intersection", and assistant news director, and Brendan Byrne, program and online content producer, for their Intersection show “Parramore Tackles a Changing Neighborhood.” The Aug. 18, 2015, show focused on how Parramore, Orlando’s historically black neighborhood, is dealing with crime and development, including a soccer stadium, amid an expanding economy.
