WPUL Ownership Changes Hands   5-1-15
PSI Communications, LLC has sold WPUL-AM 1590 to The Julia Cherry Living Revocable Trust. The contract is the cancellation of debt with no cash changing hands.


New Weekend Voice At WPCV    5-2-15
Hall Communications announced Nic Allen as the new weekend host at WPCV-FM 97.5. Nic was most recently Program Director at WKXN-FM 95.7 in Alabama.

Genesis Communications Hires Alex Tallitsch as Digital Director

After an extensive search for a leader to oversee its digital operations, Genesis Communications is pleased to announce that it has hired Alex Tallitsch effective immediately. Alex has a wealth of experience in digital operations. Most recently as the Social Media Coordinator of the Times Square Ball Drop and the as the Digital Director for the Green Bay Packers. Alex will Oversee Sports Talk Florida, (in Central Florida WHOO-AM 1080) and News Talk Florida (WIXC-AM 1060).

New VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Cluster    5-14-15
Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed 36-year radio broadcast veteran Gary Mertins as Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus’ four-station cluster in Melbourne. The stations include WLZR-AM 1560, WAOA-FM 107.1, WHKR-FM 102.7 and WSJZ-FM 95.9.

Genesis Communications Names VP Of Programming     5-14-15  
Tom Paleveda has been named Vice President of Programming for Genesis Communications. Central Florida stations include WIXC-AM 1060, WHOO-AM 1080 and WAMT-AM 1190.

Movin' on Up     5-15-15
WMEL-AM 1300 has promoted midday talker Vince Young to Program Director. Young’s been with WMEL since 2000 in a variety of capacities-working behind the scenes in the production department, while also broadcasting his political talk show and is currently heard from 10AM-2PM.

History Center Exhibit Gets Extended Stay     5-19-15
The Featured Exhibition, at the Orange County Regional History Center in Orlando, "Long Way to the Top: Hard Rock in Orlando, 1977-1985" originally scheduled to close May 31, will continue until June 14.


JVC Media Tags New Event Sales Director     5-26-15   
Maggie Melville has been named Event Sales Director for the entire JVC Company. Maggie will be based in Orlando at JVC’s newest FM outlet WOTW-FM 103.1 The Wolf, Orlando. Maggie is a native of the Finger Lakes in western upstate New York, she planted roots in Central Florida in 1995. Maggie began by pioneering the on line auction program at Clear Channel Communications (now iHeart Media) as the Account Executive of the Interactive Division. She then moved on to become the Senior Event Account Manager with Cox Events Group, a division of Cox Media Group Orlando. Maggie has worked in the world of events for ten years creating sponsorship opportunities and helping to create and develop new events and sponsorships in the Central Florida area.

Movin' On Up     5-31-15
Jack Bradshaw has been named Program Director at WTKS-FM 104.1. Jack started at "Real Radio" in 1998 as an Intern. In 2013, Jack became the Assistant Program Director for the station. He will continue as part of the crew of the top rated "Philips Phile"
