WEUS-AM 810 quietly changed formats this weekend from Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel to religious/ brokered programming. 


"The Arts Connection" Leaves The Air After 16 Years

WMFE-FM 90.7 has dropped the program "The Arts Connection" after 16 years. Funding was one of the reasons given for the move. Producer Rebecca Morgan lost her job last week. She had been the producer of the program for 6 years and has been with WMFE-FM 90.7 for nine years.


Veteran WFLA-AM 970 Newscaster Passes

Don Richards who spent more than 40 years in radio, but became best known for his 1998 controversial on-air interview with police killer Hank Earl Carr, who was a violent convict who was wanted in four states and in the space of four hours killed his girlfriend's son and three police officers. Richards, news director of WFLA-AM  970 radio, died of cancer Friday afternoon in hospice care. He was 65.

New Sunday Program On WMEL-AM 1300

Two time Emmy award winning producer Patricia Lewis now hosts Brevard Speaks on WMEL-AM 1300 Sundays at noon.


WLOF Program Director Passes

Tom Siegfried, the Program Director of WLOF-AM 950 at the peak of it's popularity passed away last night, June 15. Tom, a somewhat quiet mannered but incredibly creative man was loved by all who worked with him. A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on Thursday, June 19th, at 7:00pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 428 East Plant Street in Winter Garden. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-7:00pm before the celebration. All family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the celebration at the Siegfried's home at 707 Valencia Shores Drive Winter Garden, Fl 34787.

Buckethead Gone From 101.1; Lineup Shakeup Too

Jason "Buckethead" Bailey has left the Clear Channel building in Maitland. Jason had been heard locally on WJRR-FM 101.1 as well as on Tampa's WXTB-FM 97.9. Buckethead has been replaced by the syndicated Lex and Terry. The new WJRR lineup includes Mel Taylor on 10 a.m.-3 p.m., "Crash on the Radio" (Russell Smith) from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. and evenings still to be decided.

Ryan Seacrest Debuts Today

WXXL-FM 106.7 launches On Air with Ryan Seacrest  today.  The music and entertainment news program will air from 1 to 4pm , Monday through Friday.  Seacrest will focus on all aspects of the entertainment industry, highlighting and interviewing top talent from the worlds of music, film and television.  XL 106.7 Program Director Michael Bryan said, “Ryan’s track record speaks for itself.  He’s a superstar personality with instant name and brand recognition around the world.  Adding Ryan to an already strong talent lineup positions XL for sustained growth well into the future, and that’s incredibly exciting!” 


Scott "Scooter" Sherwood Celebrates A Birthday

Former morning man and program director of WOCL-FM 105.9 "Cool 105" Scott "Scooter" Sherwood turns 61 tomorrow June, 27. Scott is afternoon host and Program Director at KABG-FM 98.5 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Happy Birthday Scott!
