Erica Lee Biography
WOMX
Erica
Lee, an only child, was born in Brooklyn New York -- her parents
moved to the suburbs of New Jersey when she was 4 -- the family moved to
Rocky Mount, North Carolina when Erica was in 3rd grade -- then back to
New Jersey (East Brunswick) mid-way through 5th grade. They actually
stayed put for 6 years in the same house, but moved to Hollywood,
Florida in time for Erica to have to make all new friends her senior
year of high school -- she wasn't bitter -- her parents bought her a new
Honda Civic. After high school that Honda, packed with Erica's stuff
(and that set of towels her mother had been trying to unload), headed
north and west to Tallahassee to attend Florida State -- all was
swell. Erica was majoring in hotel and restaurant administration, when
an unexpected turn of events occurred . . . she decided to pursue a
childhood dream of being a deejay (and freak out her parents at the same
time). Erica Lee began her radio career in Tallahassee in 1979 at WGLF-FM
104.1 "Gulf 104" (Motto: We'll hire you with no
prior experience). Left after 2 years for the "big city" WPFM-FM
107.9 Panama City (not the one in Panama) -- then in 1983 moved
to Jacksonville to work at WIVY-FM 102.9 for almost 7 years (2
too many). Then on to Orlando where Erica decided to give "morning
drive" a try at WOMX-FM 105.1
"Mix 105.1". The "try" lasted 19 years. Erica
was let go by CBS Radio on January 7, 2010.

Radio Return Unlikely For Erica Lee 11-3-11 The Orlando Sentinel's Hal Bodecker caught up with former WOMX-FM 105.1 morning co-host, Erica Lee. She is now Vice-President of Public Relations and Spokesperson with a company called with a company called Zealthy. She told Hal about a return to radio; "The longer I was out, the harder it was for me to imagine getting back in." The only thing that would appeal to me would be going back with Scott." |
