Russ began his career 30 years ago in Newark, NY.,  30 miles outside of his hometown of Rochester.  Coming to Florida in 1977, Uncle Russie found a home for his personality driven show on WHHL-AM 1190.  Russ has worked at WTRR-AM 1400 and in the late 1980's moved to WMJK-AM 1220 in Kissimmee, where "The Doo Wop Shoppe" began, then Russ and the show moved to WGTO-AM 540. Russ is now one of the voices you hear all over central Florida as a reporter for Clear Channel Communications doing traffic for many of the area stations. Russ was host of the Doo Wop shop on WLBE-AM 790.
